About this edition

The 15th edition took place on 28 March 2015 in Orchide's conference room and covered democracy, the part civil society plays in it, and transitional justice.

Alban Haliti, executive director of the NGO INPO, talked about why democracy matters, INPO's work for it and the key role of young people. He also presented the opportunities offered by the European Youth Foundation, which INPO had recently joined, and the organisation's ties with international youth foundations.

Rinor Beka, Legislative Programme manager at the National Democratic Institute (NDI), worked on programmes that help the Assembly of Kosovo carry out its representative, law-making and oversight roles. He talked about NDI's work and why civil society matters, with examples from the United States.

Bekim Blakaj, executive director of the Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo, talked about the human losses of the war in Kosovo, the statistics on its victims and the database of the Kosovo Memory Book. He also briefly explained the mechanisms of transitional justice and their role in a lasting peace.

Organised by a team of young volunteers from Ferizaj, with the support of IPKO Foundation.
